Wagner Realty Raises More Than $15K at 5th Annual Golf Classic to Benefit The Bradenton Blue Foundation

2022 Golf Classic Benefitting Bradenton Blue FoundationBRADENTON, FL, October 17 – On Friday, October 7th  Wagner Realty held their annual Golf Classic Fundraiser at Tara Golf & Country Club in Bradenton. Coming on the heels of the recent hurricane, it was unclear whether the event would even happen. Many in our local community suffered property damage, power outages, and dealt with the stress of mandatory evacuations. But it soon became apparent that getting together to thank the Bradenton Police Department for their hard work was just what our community needed.

The weather was perfect for more than 100 golfers to participate in 18 holes of scramble golf, raising more than $15K for The Bradenton Blue Foundation, that provides funds for specialty training, technology, safety equipment, community outreach programs, and K-9 safety needs.

The mission of the Bradenton Blue Foundation is to make the City of Bradenton a safer place for all to live, work and visit through the fulfillment of unmet non-budgeted safety needs for its most critical resource, its members.

Proudly serving on the Bradenton Blue Foundation is Stephen McGonagle, Wagner Realty Corporate Director. "Wagner Realty does more than sell real estate. Community outreach is very important to us" says McGonagle, adding "our philosophy is to give more to the community we serve than we take from it. The entire Wagner family is proud to serve our communities."

Following a day on course, Wagner Realty hosted dinner along with the awards ceremony. First place went to the foursome of Bryan Hostetler, Jacob Lamoreaux, Dalton Yancy, and Mike Warren. Second place went to Dennis Cooley, Rian Kelly, Dale Slimick and Pete Britton. Third place went to Oscar Acosta, Nick Johnson, Mike Balensiefen, and Finnian Mayotte. Closest to the Pin went to Ryan Williams and Carol Codella.  Longest drive went to Jeff Beckley and Beth Larson.

A huge thank you goes out to our sponsors and volunteers who helped make the golf classic an exciting and successful fundraising event.

5 Spots in Sarasota to Ring in the New Year

Sarasota New Years Eve Spots2018 is almost here, and our REALTORS® in Sarasota know just how to celebrate. If you're still free on New Year's Eve, it's time to make plans for an unforgettable evening.

Here are five of our favorite ways to ring in 2018 right here in Sarasota:

  1. NYE Party at the Municipal Auditorium
One of the biggest and most popular parties in Sarasota, this all-inclusive bash benefits charity and features top-shelf liquor, bottomless champagne, live music, appetizers, valet parking, and other VIP perks. We're actually sponsoring this year's event, which will fill out the historic Sarasota Municipal Auditorium. Get your tickets now to take advantage of early prices for the "Best NYE Party in SRQ".

  2. Pineapple Drop & Fair on Main Street
Downtown Sarasota gets tropical every year for a unique NYE tradition: the Pineapple Drop. But before you look up at midnight to watch the illuminated fruit on Lemon and Main, you can spend all day with the family at a big outdoor New Year's Eve Party. Carnival rides, games, three stages of live entertainment, dozens of local food and drink vendors, and more will fill Main Street from 2 pm onward. Grab the kids for an all-day celebration, or come after dark to drink and dance the night away with your favorite adults.

  3. Fireworks Show at Marina Jack
This year, Marina Jack and the City of Sarasota will work together to produce a midnight fireworks show over the marina and bay. Grab a seat at one of two four-course dinners at the restaurant (which overlooks the water), or spend midnight on the water itself, with a four-hour dinner cruise that boards at 8 pm. The celebratory cruise will include a delicious buffet, champagne toast, and live music. No matter how you spend the evening, the fireworks show is sure to dazzle.

  4. Speakeasy at the Powel Crosley Estate
Want to ring in 2018 like it's still 1928? Come to the famous Powel Crosley Estate for a New Year's Gala and After Party that will be roaring all night long – or at least until 1 AM. The waterfront mansion will transform into a speakeasy-style party venue, complete with card games, live jazz, dancing under the stars, and a classic and delicious meal straight out of an F. Scott Fitzgerald novel. Get glamorous and channel your inner flapper for an unforgettable New Year's Eve.

  5. Glamour at the Selby Gardens
If you're looking for something formal and fancy, why not spend the evening among the flowers? Our friends at the gorgeous Marie Selby Botanical Gardens are hosting a black-tie New Year's Eve "experience" among their tropical plants and festive holiday lights. The evening will include hors d'oeuvres, a four-course dinner, and live music and dancing. Of course, it all ends with a champagne toast at midnight and a fantastic view of the fireworks over Sarasota Bay.
